Zinkplaat are an Afrikaans band from South Africa and have a new nifty CD packaging designed by Fanakalo a design studio also based in SA. Pretty great concept to reveal the album art work by scratching-it-off.

Esau Mwamwaya gets more collaborative and hot! With 2 British producer cohorts, and a new album on the way, you’ll find his new songs quite great. Especially the Warm Heart of Africa featuring Vampire Weekend’s Ezra Koenig. He has a few shows this week in the states. Go see him if you are in Philly or NYC. His show Sunday night in Boston was spectacular.

Design house Rex Creative in South Africa gets fancy by adopting the new grid look! I like!

Aerial street art comes to Kibera.

JR’s a street artist whose 28 Millimeters project takes place in Kibera (the largest slum in Kenya).  JR managed to cover trains, rooftops and hills with pictures of women’s eyes that he had taken almost a year ealier. Take a look at this french artists work.

Great Viral Marketing from Kenya

I don’t have all the news about this project, my friend Mugambi pointed it to me. Its such a great way to sublimly educate an audience whilst entertaining them. HIV Free Generation is intended as a game to the youth. Its witty in its approach and wonderful at the hope it brings while being quite a thrill.
